Planning and preparing for a major incident or emergency

Norfolk County Council carries out emergency planning duties within Norfolk. We do this as part of Norfolk Resilience Forum, along with other agencies and district, city and borough councils who also have this duty under the Civil Contingencies Act 2004.

Plans are put in place to help manage major incidents or emergencies. The publicly available plans are published on the Norfolk Resilience Forum website.

Personal preparedness

There is a lot that you can do to prepare yourself for a household emergency or major incident that could impact you at home or work.

You can find more information on preparing you home, your community or your business on the Norfolk Resilience Forum website.

Business continuity

Business continuity means thinking about your organisation and the things which could adversely affect it, then putting plans in place to deal with them and recover from the disruption.
