Charging your vehicle at County Hall

You can charge electric or plug-in hybrid vehicles during your visit to County Hall. Charge points are available on the forecourt area.

About the chargers

  • There are 23 fast (7kW) charging sockets, two of which are in disabled parking bays. These are Type 2 sockets which are the most common in the UK. You will need to bring your charging lead with you.
  • There are also two rapid (50kW) charging sockets. These are CCS Type 2 sockets with the charging leads attached to the unit.
  • Charging is 45p per kWh for the fast charges and 55p per kWh for the rapid charger. We will review these rates periodically.

How to use the chargers

  • Download the Blink Charging app and follow the steps to install on your phone. A QR code is also available on the charge points which you can scan to download the app. Use the app to:
    • Check availability of charging sockets
    • How your charge is progressing
    • Managing payment
  • When the charge is initiated, the app may apply a holding fee of £35. It will charge the correct amount once the charging session is complete. This process is like "pay at pump" at petrol stations.
  • You don't need to reserve a space at the moment. Park up, plug in and off you go.

Where to go for help

If you have a problem using the charging station or app contact Blink for 24/7 support on 0330 111 0076 or support@blinkcharging.co.uk. You will need to quote the device ID which is on the charge point, for example 1989-10.

If you notice any damaged chargers, let Norse Helpdesk know on 0333 0155 777 or norse.helpdesk@norsegroup.co.uk
