Emergency Service Call Handler Level 3 Standard
Duration
15 months. This includes an on-programme training part of the apprenticeship for 12 months, and an end point assessment period which usually lasts 3 months.

Job role
An Emergency Service or NHS Integrated Urgent Care Contact Handler responds to requests for specialist professional assistance from members of the public, colleagues, and employees from other organisations.
The requests from service users could come in a variety of ways, including:
- Phone (for example, 999 emergency or 111 urgent care calls)
- Online applications
- Text messages
- Social media
Some service users will be directly or indirectly involved in difficult and/or traumatic situations.
