Duration
The duration of the Library, Information & Archive Apprenticeship will be 18+ months.
It is the responsibility of the employer to ensure every apprentice is given 20% of their paid hours as time to learn.
Qualification
Full Library, Information and Archive Services Assistant Apprenticeship Level 3. You will be required to take Functional Skills maths and English at Level 2 if you do not already hold the equivalent GCSE grade 4-9 or (old system A*-C).
Job Role
The role provides a range of services, such as library, archive, knowledge, customer services, learning support, etc., that help people to use and value the resources available.
Activities associated are likely to include:
- Helping customers find the resources they need
- Providing essential digital and analogue information
- Contributing to the efficiency of the organisation
- Managing projects
Delivery
To help apprentices, there will be a variety in the ways they will learn:
- Workplace/workshop learning
- Flexible start dates
- 1 to 1 support from Assessor to Apprentice
- Online learning environment for support throughout the Apprenticeship
- Monthly workshops to cover knowledge
