End point assessment

The end point assessment is the show case of competency for the apprentice across all the knowledge, skills and behaviours. This will include:

Knowledge test

Multiple choice online. 

Competency-based Interview

Structured questions to assess knowledge completed by an independent assessor.

Portfolio of evidence

Reviewed and assessed by an independent assessor.

Project presentation with question and answer session

Presented to an independent assessor.

Professional discussion

Relating to CPD activity completed by an independent assessor.

Duration

The duration of the Team Leader/Supervisor apprenticeship will typically take 30 months. The minimum duration on programme before an apprentice can complete is 12 months. It is the responsibility of the employer to ensure that every apprentice is given 20% of their paid hours as time to learn.

Qualification

The apprentice may be required to take Functional Skills maths and English at Level 2 if they do not already hold the equivalent GCSE grade 4-9 or (old system A*-C).

To help the apprentice, there will be a variety in the ways they will learn.

  • Workplace learning
  • One to one support from assessor to apprentice
  • Online learning environment to support learning throughout the apprenticeship
  • Monthly workshops
  • ILM Qualification The level 5 Diploma for Leaders and Management upon completion
  • All ILM Management apprentices receive two years' membership of the Institute of Leadership and Management, bringing access to a wealth of resources

Progression

The level 6 Charted Manager Apprenticeship and the Level 7 Senior Leader Master's Degree apprenticeship is available.
