How we set this year's budget
At its meeting on 18 February 2025, Norfolk County Council set a £572m net budget for 2025-26.
The decision means the County Council's share of band D Council Tax bills will rise to £1,755.63. This is approximately £34 a week.
The Council consulted on 2025-26 budget proposals from 1 November to 16 December 2024. County councillors considered the findings from consultation as part of the evidence used to help make decisions about budget proposals.
The budget includes investment of £121m to meet cost and other pressures in services including:
- £59m in adult social care and
- £32m in children's services
The budget will require the Council to make savings of £45m.
