Electric vehicle strategy
We have a responsibility to manage and reduce the impact of climate change within Norfolk. Our electric vehicle strategy addresses one area where we can reduce carbon emissions.
New petrol and diesel cars will stop being sold by 2030 and are being replaced by emerging electric vehicle technology. So, electric vehicles will play an important role within our society.
Our strategy sets out six priorities that are being put in place to help support the uptake of electric vehicles in Norfolk, including suitable charging infrastructure.
Our priorities are as follows:
- Priority 1: Accelerate charge point deployment on our highway network
- Priority 2: Review our own fleet
- Priority 3: Collaborative working
- Priority 4: Update parking and design standards
- Priority 5: Exploration of wider measures including incentives
- Priority 6: Promotional and awareness raising
