Parking
Controlled on-street parking in Norfolk outside of Norwich is managed by the Norfolk Parking Partnership (NPP).
The annual report for the NPP can be found here. This shows a breakdown of income and expenditure on the Partnership's parking account for 2015/16. It also provides a breakdown of how the authority has spent a surplus on its parking account.
Norwich City Council is not part of NPP and reports separately.
- The number of free controlled car parking spaces available in the NPP area is - 3,036
- The number of controlled spaces where charges apply in the NPP area is - 3,261
- The total number of controlled parking spaces in the NPP area is - 6,369
To measure these in areas where the parking space was not marked, for parking alongside the kerb the length was divided by an average 5.5m vehicle length and rounded off to the nearest whole number.
In terms of parking spaces perpendicular to the kerb, the width was divided by 2.5m and rounded off to the nearest whole number.
The number of controlled spaces where charges apply includes all streets where there is a resident permit zone or drivers need to pay for a ticket from a pay and display machine.
