Better Broadband for Norfolk by The European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD)
Using £2 million in additional funding from The European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD), The existing Better Broadband for Norfolk (BBfN) programme was extended further to provide Ultrafast capable broadband to key rural business premises across Norfolk.
A strong digital infrastructure is key to ensuring Norfolk can continue to develop and support our ambitions that make Norfolk an attractive place for business to invest in and grow.
Historically, the rural nature of Norfolk has meant that large parts were not commercially viable for providers to upgrade to faster broadband.
Using the funding from The European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD), work is now well under way to implement FTTP (Fibre to the Premises) at 393 rural business premises across Norfolk by Spring 2023.
The work will also ensure that key fibre optic infrastructure penetrates even further into Norfolk, allowing for potential future developments by the commercial sector.
