Angel Road/Waterloo Road
July to September 2018
Details of work:
- Carriageway resurfacing of the southern section of Waterloo Road, between its junction with Magpie Road and its junction with Angel Road.
- Construction of seven new cycle-friendly road humps on Waterloo Road.
- Construction of five new cycle-friendly road humps on Angel Road (four will replace existing speed cushions).
- Resurfacing sections of footway on Waterloo Road.
- Providing a new time-limited parking bay on Waterloo Road near the convenience store.
- Resurfacing western section of Shipstone Road cycle path.
- Adding a short section of double yellow lines opposite the Rosebery Road junction.
Reasons for work:
- Repair worn out carriageway.
- Slow vehicle speeds and improve safety for all road users.
- Improve the pedalway routes for cyclists on Shipstone Road, Angel Road and Waterloo Road.
- Allow safer access for cyclists entering and exiting Rosebery Road.
- Provide some short-stay parking near the convenience store.
- Address flooding issues.
