Angel Road/Waterloo Road

July to September 2018

Details of work:

  • Carriageway resurfacing of the southern section of Waterloo Road, between its junction with Magpie Road and its junction with Angel Road.
  • Construction of seven new cycle-friendly road humps on Waterloo Road.
  • Construction of five new cycle-friendly road humps on Angel Road (four will replace existing speed cushions).
  • Resurfacing sections of footway on Waterloo Road.
  • Providing a new time-limited parking bay on Waterloo Road near the convenience store.
  • Resurfacing western section of Shipstone Road cycle path.
  • Adding a short section of double yellow lines opposite the Rosebery Road junction.

Reasons for work:

  • Repair worn out carriageway.
  • Slow vehicle speeds and improve safety for all road users.
  • Improve the pedalway routes for cyclists on Shipstone Road, Angel Road and Waterloo Road.
  • Allow safer access for cyclists entering and exiting Rosebery Road.
  • Provide some short-stay parking near the convenience store.
  • Address flooding issues.
