Finkelgate

August to October 2016

Following the other changes in the city centre, this project improved the exit from Ber Street to Finkelgate to cope with any increase of traffic on Ber Street.

This work included:

• Construction of traffic signals and controlled crossings at the Finkelgate/Queens Road junction
• Removal of existing staggered crossing on Queens Road (between Holls Lane and Finkelgate junctions)
• Relocation of residents' parking from Finkelgate to other streets in the area
• Provision of new mini-roundabout at the Finkelgate/Ber Street junction
• Carriageway repairs, resurfacing and application of road markings
• Modification of kerbs and traffic island on Hall Road at junction with Queens Road
