Dressing up

Dressing up can be lots of fun, but it's more than just fun. Sometimes toddlers enjoy dressing up as a superhero or fairy princess. Often they like to copy what they see every day, dressing up like friends and family using hats, scarves and bags.

When children dress up, they experiment and try out different roles. Sometimes it's a way of feeling what it might be like to be someone else. For example, the parent looking after everyone or a tiger in the jungle frightening everyone.
