Helping with housework
Toddlers love to join in with housework. Jobs like sorting the washing can be fun for you and your child to do together. You can match items such as pairs of socks, clothes of the same colour, mummy's clothes and daddy's clothes.
Help your child to learn new words by talking about the feel of fabrics. For example, is it soft, scratchy, smooth or rough?
Talk about what you're doing and let your child help you to load the washing machine, take the clothes out, pass you the pegs and fold the clothes.
