If you can spend ten minutes a day to read with your child, you will make a huge impact to their development.

You don't have to read a book. You could read a comic, look at a magazine or catalogue or tell a story you have made up yourself. All of these activities will support language development and encourage a love of stories and reading.

Everyone can raise a reader.

• Visit Norfolk libraries - there are no overdue book charges for under fives
• Bookstart provides a free pack of books for each baby in Norfolk before their first birthday. You will also receive another pack just before they start school. There are special packs available for children who have problems with sight or hearing, or whose first language isn't English
• Events in Norfolk libraries - enjoy free events like baby bounce and rhyme sessions and story times
• Norfolk libraries' book catalogue for children  provides book recommendations for young children
