Norfolk Safeguarding Children Partnership
Every local authority in the country has a plan for Multi-Agency Safeguarding Arrangements (MASAs) which the Local Authority, Health and Police are responsible for implementing. The three statutory partners work to make sure that children are protected from harm and that their welfare is promoted. Locally, this arrangement is known as the Norfolk Safeguarding Children Partnership or NSCP.
The NSCP is supported by a discrete business unit which enables the three statutory partners to work with the wider partnership, including education, early years and the voluntary sector. The NSCP makes sure that people working with children carry out their safeguarding responsibilities as required by law.
The NSCP also provides multi-agency training for professionals on many topics such as Signs of Safety, Neglect, Child Sexual Abuse, Family Networking, Professional Curiosity and Challenge, Vulnerable Adolescents, together with some free training and workshops on Harmful Sexual Behaviour.
More information regarding this training and information about safeguarding children for professionals, parents and carers and children can be found on the NSCP website.
