Support for learning

Boy and teacher

This section outlines what happens if a child or young person is having difficulties with their learning.

Children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) may need extra help to enable them to learn and make progress in their learning alongside other children of the same age. This is known as SEN Support.

If your child is struggling at school and you need help and advice to get the right support, contact our SEND and Inclusion Support Line on 0333 313 7165.

The friendly team of knowledgeable advisers can give you guidance and help you get support. This includes advice and guidance if you're considering applying for an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), and help if you're concerned your child is at risk of exclusion from school.

The SEND and Inclusion Support Line is open Monday to Friday, from 9am to 5pm, excluding bank holidays.
