Support and training for foster carers

Helping you step up, whatever your walk of life

You don't need a special skill set to become an exceptional foster carer. What we're looking for are people who are secure in themselves and their lives. People with open minds, a willingness to learn and who are flexible and available.

Whatever your walk of life, our team of Foster Carer Ambassadors can help you step up. They're a team of 26 carers who have years of experience in fostering. They'll answer your questions, address any concerns and take you through the highs and lows of fostering. 

Here's what you can also expect from us:

• A range of training and learning opportunities
• Specialised support from local health, education and therapeutic providers
• Regular visits from an allocated social worker offering supervision and support
• Access to local network groups in different parts of Norfolk
• Free membership of The Fostering Network (opens new window), which provides specialist advice and support
• Support groups for foster carers' own children
• Social opportunities to meet other Norfolk foster carers

Finally, our experienced out-of-hours team provides 24-hour support if you have any queries or concerns.
