Holidays with school or youth groups

Your holiday allowance help you cover the cost of taking your foster child on holiday with you.

If your foster child is going on a holiday with their school or youth group, you can claim expenses for this additional cost.

Holidays abroad

For each foster child, you can claim the cost of one holiday abroad organised by Children's Services in any three-year period. Exceptions to this may be made in special circumstances, and with the approval of the Assistant Director for Corporate Parenting.

How to claim

To claim expenses for a foster child's holiday with school or a youth group, you should:

• Get the costs approved by your supervising social worker in advance, and
• Submit your claim to your supervising social worker on the Children's Provider Portal (ContrOCC)
