How much Supported Living costs

Person smiling in kitchen

If someone moves into Supported Living they will sign a tenancy agreement, or similar, with the housing provider. The social work team will be able to explain how this works for each location.

All living costs must be paid. This includes:

  • Rent
  • Council tax
  • Utility bills, including heating and lighting
  • Food

The social work team will talk to people about furnishing the home and whether people need to buy their own essential kitchen equipment.

Benefits

The housing provider will help people claim for any housing benefit and council tax reduction that they are entitled to.

Other charges

The person may be charged for the care element of Supported Living based on their financial circumstances. Read about paying for care.
