Norfolk's schools and further and higher education providers have an excellent and varied learning offer for children, young people, and adults.

A multi-million building programme is under way to improve existing school buildings and create new ones, ensuring there are school places available where they are needed most in our communities.
A £120 million five-year SEND transformation programme is delivering at least 500 new specialist education places for children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), with two new-build special schools opened in 2022 and a third due to open in 2023.
Early years education is a real strength, with 96% of our nurseries, pre-schools and childminders good or outstanding.
Our further and higher education providers, which include specialist colleges and training facilities are thriving with all being good or outstanding.
We have two-world class universities. The University of East Anglia (UEA) is ranked in the top 25 in the country and within the top 200 universities in the world. It boasts one of the largest scientific communities in Europe and its world-leading research covers science, health and medicine, social sciences and humanities.
Norwich University of the Arts is ranked seventh in the modern universities table and is second top arts university in the UK and the highest outside of London. It offers specialist arts, architecture, design media and creative science education in the heart of the city.
For those wanting to continue their learning into adulthood, there is also a diverse adult education service with Norfolk's award-winning Adult Learning service. It offers a range of courses including GCSEs, foundation and vocational learning, as well as art and craft, language and business courses.
