About Wherryman's Way

The Wherryman's Way is a 37.5-mile-long distance walking trail on the Yare Valley. It runs between Norwich Train Station and Great Yarmouth Train Station, using footpaths and quiet lanes. 

The route provides a fantastic way to experience the Broads, either as a long-distance walk or on one of 12 shorter circular walks.

To further promote and enhance this special route, we are working on projects with the:

• Broads Authority
• South Norfolk District Council

The most recent scheme delivered has improved the surface at Rockland Broad. It is now more suitable for users with reduced mobility.

As part of this collaboration, we submitted a joint submission in 2021 to the Greater Norwich Growth Board. The submission was to improve access on the Wherryman's Way with a particular focus at Hardley Flood. This application was successful, and this first phase of the project began in April 2022.

The Greater Norwich Growth Board funded this project through the Infrastructure Investment Fund.
