Wherryman's Way path closures and temporary route changes

Hardley

There is currently a diversion in place at Hardley due to dangerous bridges and river bank stabilisation.

The Wherryman's Way at Hardley Flood travels along a narrow 'bund' between two large and deep bodies of water, Hardley Flood and the River Chet. This path has become too uneven to use safely.

The Wherryman's Way is closed to the east of Chedgrave Common and to the west of a hardstanding on the River Chet 1.6 kilometres south west of its' junction with the River Yare. The four footbridges on the Wherryman's Way near Hardley are also unsafe to use and two have collapsed completely.

The diversion is waymarked on the ground. The map below (Figure 1) shows a temporary diversion route on the Wherryman's Way long distance footpath at Hardley flood and Chedgrave Common.
