Wicklewood Windmill and Mill House
Wicklewood Windmill is a five-storey towermill. It was built in 1845/46 and is now preserved as a Grade II Listed Building.
The tower stands 43 feet tall and supports a boat-shaped cap. It has a six-bladed fantail and patent sails with an overall span of 63 feet. The cap does not currently turn to face the wind.
The mill was purchased by William Wade in 1906 who continued to operate it with his son Dennis until 1942. Margaret Edwards, the granddaughter of William Wade, gifted the mill to the Norfolk Windmills Trust in 1977.
The small clay lump building next to the mill once housed a Shanks 12/14hp paraffin engine which was sold in 1972. The engine was subsequently found, purchased and brought back to the site.
Repairs to the Mill Mouse were completed in 2019 and the cottages are currently let.
