Skills and social inclusion

EU funding can support skills development for businesses, and projects which support the long-term unemployed back into the workplace. It can also fund projects which improve social inclusion for vulnerable people.

Project example

ACE Wild (Alternative Curriculum Education out of the Wild) supports disadvantaged and more vulnerable pupils aged 11-16 to gain experiences, qualifications and skills in an outdoor learning environment. Supported by Erasmus+, ACE Wild is run by Norfolk County Council and has partners in Germany and the Netherlands.

Funds to consider

  • European Social Fund supports projects which promote social inclusion and develop workforce skills for growth.
  • Erasmus+ supports a range of learning and training initiatives which enable closer cross-European collaboration.
  • Interreg Va France (Channel) England programme is looking for projects which 'increase the quality and the effectiveness of service delivery to the most socially and economically disadvantaged groups through social innovation'.
