How the cost of care is determined

Every year we review the prices we pay contracted adult social care providers for commissioned services. We must demonstrate that we are paying a fair cost for care and spending taxpayers' money wisely.

We consult with providers on the proposed prices. We gather providers' views and any other information that should be considered before a final decision is made. Once the consultation is closed, we analyse the responses and determine the final prices.
