Choose with confidence - all the businesses listed in the Norfolk Trusted Trader directory have been checked by Trading Standards.
Trading Standards check each business before it's listed by running background checks. We also monitor reviews customers leave for the businesses.
Trusted Trader is operated by Norfolk County Council Trading Standards in partnership with Trusted Directory Services. Trading Standards base their checks on the information available at the time. Members' circumstances may change at any time.

Tips for choosing a trader
- Get three or four quotes before choosing your trader. Some Trusted Trader members may offer preferential rates for people who find their service through the directory, so it's always worth asking.
- Discuss what you want, agree what you would like them to do and confirm the cost. Remember the contract is between you and the trader.
- After getting your quotes think it over - it's OK to change your mind.

Disputes
If you used a Norfolk Trusted Trader member and are not satisfied with the service you received, you can get help to settle the dispute.
Limitations of the Norfolk Trusted Trader scheme - information for consumers
We have put in place as many measures as we can to protect you. However, neither Norfolk County Council, Norfolk Trading Standards, Norfolk Trusted Trader nor Trusted Directory Services Ltd. are directly involved in any agreement between you and the member, so we cannot be held liable if things go wrong.
Norfolk Trusted Trader have not checked, prior to approval to the scheme, the following:
- quality of workmanship
- criminal record (although in some cases we may ask for evidence of this)
In the event of a problem or issue with a trader, the scheme can offer assistance via the complaints and dispute resolution process page. We will always try to help to avoid matters going to court.
