Bookings open for festive Big Norfolk Holiday Fun scheme

Norfolk County Council , 12 December 2024 16:47

Bookings for the festive Big Norfolk Holiday Fun (BNHF) programme are now open.

Children across Norfolk can participate in a range of exciting activities from 30 December to 3 January (excluding bank holidays) as part of the school Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) scheme, known locally as BNHF.

The programme provides holiday activities for children and young people aged five to 16 and a healthy lunch for children eligible for means-tested free school meals, with paid spots also available.

The scheme is delivered by Norfolk County Council, in partnership with Active Norfolk, and is funded by the Department for Education.

Councillor Penny Carpenter, Cabinet Member for Children's Services, said: "The scheme has always been a success with more than 18,000 children across Norfolk benefitting from the programme. Our goal is to provide a safe, fun, and enriching environment where children can learn new skills, make friends, and create lasting memories."

This year's winter programme will provide a variety of events and workshops tailored to suit all interests and age groups. From performing arts and science experiments to exhilarating sports and outdoor adventures, there is something for everyone to enjoy.

It is expected to be the final programme in the four-year scheme, as the funding from the Department for Education is due to come to an end at the end of this year.
