What is the Purpose of this Document?
This privacy notice explains how we Future Skills NOW (Norfolk County Council), use your information to manage applications, training fund awards for reimbursement towards training and skills development identified through the skills audit conducted as part of the project.
Norfolk County Council has been awarded the contract for the delivery of the Future Skills NOW project by North Norfolk District Council for the period 1 April 2024 to 31 March 2025. The project is funded by the UK Government under UK Shared Prosperity Funding, allocated to North Norfolk District Council and contract to Norfolk County Council to deliver on their behalf.
By 'use' we mean what we do with your information, and how we store and share it.
If you have provided consent for case studies, you can withdraw this at any time by emailing futureskillsnow@norfolk.gov.uk.

How We Use Your Information
Depending on which part of Future Skills NOW you are involved with, we will use your information to:
- Confirm eligibility to access the training fund
- Conduct a skills audit on the business (training delivered and providers used)
- Send details of follow up training recommendations and signpost to other organisations where relevant for support services directly linked to the skills audit outcome(s)
- Make relevant referrals the Growth Hub and Apprenticeships Norfolk (only when separate agreement has been obtained)
- Assess applications/eligibility for the training fund
- Approve and process payment requests for the training fund, following receipt of the evidence required to meet the criteria of the project
- Where separate consent is obtained Norfolk County Council may share contact details with North Norfolk District Council for the purposes of case studies.
We also use your information to review the quality of our services and improve how we work.
We also use your information in other ways compatible with the above.
What Information We Collect And Use About You
We will collect and use:
- Name
- Job title
- Work phone number
- Work email address
- Business name
- Business address and postcode
- Size of company
- Training Fund applications and fund recovery (bank details for repayment);
- Certificate(s) (anonymised evidence of training completion).
- Redacted evidence confirming payment to the training provider;
- Proof of invoice from the training provider.
Where We Get Your Information From
We receive this information from you (the business).
Who We Share Your Information With
We share your information with:
- Anonymised data from the project may be shared with North Norfolk District Council for evidence or audit purposes
- Where separate consent is obtained Norfolk County Council may share contact details with North Norfolk District Council for the purposes of case studies.
All information is shared on a need-to-know basis. We do not share more than we need to.
We also share your information with companies that help us do our job. They also have to keep your information safe and only use it to help us. For example, this includes IT providers such as Microsoft.
How we keep your information
The information is stored electronically, on Norfolk County Council's records management system. Additionally, information is securely stored in other mediums, including email accounts.
We do not process your information outside of the UK and European Economic Area.
Our Lawful Basis for Using Your Information
We have legal reasons under the UK GDPR to use your information because it is necessary:
- Where the processing is necessary for the performance of a contract (eligibility requirements for the training grant)
- Because you have provided consent
- For case studies where a business has provided consent for their details to be shared with North Norfolk District Council
You do not need to give us your information. But if you do not give us the information the business / employer will not be able to access the training fund as part of the project
How Long We Keep Your Information
We will only retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes we collected it for after this period, it will be securely deleted.
If we need to use your information for research or reports, it will be anonymised, or pseudonimised, and any notes (handwritten or typed) from research sessions will be securely destroyed. The information will continue to be used in a summarised and anonymised or pseudonymised form in any published research reports or papers. If the published research is of historic interest it may be held in public archives indefinitely.
Automated Decision Making
We do not make automated decisions (including profiling) about you.

We update this privacy notice from time to time, so please review it often. The date below is updated every time this privacy notice is updated.
