Books and reading

We have books for every type of reader, including print books with larger type, books on CDDyslexia Friendly books, and shorter Quick Reads. We also provide digital eBooks, eNewspapers, eMagazines, and eAudio books.

The library catalogue is a great place to look for reading ideas. You can browse lists of new books coming soon to our libraries and look at current library promotions. You can also search for a particular title that you would like to borrow.

Request a book

If you've searched the catalogue and can't find the book you want, you can request it. We will consider your request, and may buy it to add it to our catalogue or borrow it from a library service outside Norfolk.

Send us a book review

If you've loved a book and want to tell other people about it, why not leave a book review. Visit the homepage of the catalogue (opens new window) to login to your account - you'll need your library card number and PIN. Search for the item you would like to review or give a star rating to - click on the title and select 'Add your review'.

Donate books

We are pleased to accept donations of books if they are:

  • In new condition
  • Less than 3 years old
  • We also welcome older items of local interest

All books are examined by library staff and distributed to where they are most needed, so we can't promise to place donated books in specific libraries. If we decide that your donations can't be added to our collections, we may sell them. All proceeds will be used to improve our services. If we can't accept your donations, you could take them to a charity shop or a second-hand bookshop.
