A representative can carry out a home safety check, offer advice on reducing fire risk, create an escape plan and for certain groups, fit smoke alarms free of charge.

Smoke alarms - buy it, fit it test it!

You are more than twice as likely to die in a fire at home if you do not have a smoke alarm.

Test it once a week, change the battery once a year and wipe or vacuum the casing to avoid dust build-up.
