Apprenticeships at Norfolk County Council
Apprenticeships are key for our workforce and provide a talent pipeline for our Council's current and future skill needs.
Apprenticeships can help us:
- Increase the number of work opportunities in Norfolk
- Improve the services we deliver at Norfolk County Council (NCC)
- Increase skills across Norfolk
We recruit apprentices across our departments to suit all ages and experience levels. Existing staff and those who do not currently work at NCC can apply for our apprenticeships.
We also support our local authority schools with apprenticeships.

- An Apprenticeship Advisor from our NCC apprenticeships team to help with any queries you might have about your apprenticeship
Depending on your apprenticeship programme, you can be supported to achieve membership status with professional bodies and gain a formal qualification/certificate.

Apprentice feedback
Trainee Finance Assistant Apprentice
"The course itself is only part of my learning process. Thanks to my job, I can link the new knowledge with the real-life activities. I am also given a lot of additional assignments. They help me to see my work and its impact from a wider perspective and encourage to me to learn about the whole organisation and sector."
Chartered Surveyor Apprentice
"An apprenticeship has meant that I've had a wide range of experiences that I perhaps wouldn't have been able to access or afford if I had chosen the traditional route of going straight off to university."
