New homes in Hopton as first tenants move in

The first tenants have moved into the 200 home Bowlers Green development in Hopton-on-Sea, which was created by the county council's property company, Repton Property Developments in partnership with Lovell Homes.

Daniela Almeida and Bruno Abreu received the keys from representatives of Repton Property Developments Ltd, Norfolk County Council, Lovell and the landlord, Flagship Housing's Newtide Homes division.

Daniela Almeida said: "We are delighted with our new home. We feel very lucky to raise our children in a safe environment/area and we couldn't be happier".

Councillor Greg Peck, chair of Repton Homes, said: "I'm really pleased to see that the partnership between Repton, Lovell and Flagship is providing more affordable and high quality homes in Hopton and I was delighted to meet Daniela and Bruno and their family."

Councillor Jane James, Norfolk County Council's cabinet member for corporate services and innovation, said: "Seeing how pleased Daniela and Bruno and their children were with their new home proves what a real difference that the council and its partners can make to our communities. I can't wait to see the whole development completed."

Tony Tann, managing director of Flagship Homes, said: "We're proud to be part of the Bowlers Green development and being able to offer high-quality affordable homes to Newtide tenants and Flagship Homes leaseholders. By working in this partnership, we're able move one step closer to fulfilling our vision of solving the housing crisis."

Flagship has purchased 60 of the 200 homes, for rent or shared ownership.

So far, 23 of the 60 homes have been completed and the remainder should be completed next year.
