St Williams Way walking and cycling improvements
April to June 2022
Mandatory cycle lanes with segregation wands and double yellow lines were installed along the length of St Williams Way (just west of Thor Loke to Margetson Avenue) to improve safety and encourage more people to cycle.
The pedestrian crossing close to St Williams Loke was also upgraded to a wider single stage crossing.
Background
This project was funded through the £1.2 million awarded to Norfolk County Council from the Department for Transport's (DfT) Active Travel Fund. The fund was established to invest in local infrastructure projects that support the promotion of walking and cycling as an attractive and convenient transport mode for shorter journeys.
