How to dispose of your Christmas tree

You can take your Christmas tree to any of our recycling centres for free.

If it's a real tree, put it in the green waste container.

If it's a fake tree you can put that in the container for metals. But if it's still in good condition, you could donate it to one of our Reuse shops instead.

Find your local recycling centre.

Cards and wrapping paper

You can also recycle cards and most wrapping paper at recycling centres.

We accept shiny or foil-type wrapping paper but that has to go in the 'waste to landfill' container.

Give it the scrunch test (opens new window) to see if it's recyclable.
