Road safety resources

Road safety education is an important life skill that all children and young people need so they can Flourish.
Teachers, parents and carers can share these important messages with children and young people. This is so they can become more independent with their travel choices.
Here are our key road safety messages for children and young people, broken down into themes, aims and key stages.
Main themes:
- Being a pedestrian
- Active travel
- In car safety
- Young drivers (KS3/4)
Key Stages
- Early years to KS1
- KS2 and lower KS3
- KS3 and KS4, and higher education.
A good road safety education makes it easier for students to understand how to use roads safely.
Pupils should be encouraged to understand these behaviours and develop the skills to deal with real life situations.
