Opening hours

Great Yarmouth Library will be temporarily closed from Friday 14 March as we prepare to move to our new premises, The Place, in the former Palmers department store, which is being transformed into a new public library and learning centre as part of our new community hubs

In the meantime, your nearest libraries are Caister, Gorleston and Martham libraries and we have arranged temporary venues for some of our regular groups:

FAQs

Great Yarmouth Library will reopen in The Place on 6 May 2025. 

What happens about returning books/other library items? 

You can return items to any other Norfolk library, or you can bring them back to us when we reopen. All items issued from Great Yarmouth Library will have their loan periods extended until we reopen.

Where can I print? 

Gorleston Library or Caister Library.

Where can I register a birth/death? 

Great Yarmouth Registration Office is relocating temporarily to Gorleston Library prior to moving to The Place. Appointments to register births, deaths and notices of marriage or civil partnership are by appointment only and can be booked online. Find out more at Gorleston temporary registration office.
