Our ambitions and priority themes
We share our Public Health Vision with the County Council. This is for Norfolk to be the place where everyone can start life well, live well, and where no one is left behind.
Our Public Health mission is to improve the health and wellbeing of the people of Norfolk and reduce health inequalities.
Informed by best practice and evidence, we'll lead the system in Norfolk to develop a prevention approach to improve and sustain good health and wellbeing.
We'll identify opportunities to speed up health and social care integration to ensure that people remain healthy and independent for as long as possible.
We'll work to improve and protect our population's health by promoting healthy lifestyles, supporting people to make healthy choices, working in partnership, and providing a high quality public health service.
Our Public Health ambition is to ensure that prevention is at the heart of everything we and our partners do. We want to ensure our population understands how to be healthy, and we encourage and support them to put this into practice.
We want to increase access and take up of Public Health prevention services and support healthier living. We'll do this by providing support through a variety of routes. This includes digital platforms and a range of community-based providers.
We'll actively pursue our ambitions through the priority themes in the County Council's corporate plan to work towards:
Better opportunities for children and young people
A vibrant and sustainable economy
A greener, more resilient future
Strong, engaged, and inclusive communities
Healthy, fulfilling, and independent lives
Public Health is a leading partner within the Norfolk and Waveney Integrated Care System (ICS). We work closely with the Integrated Care Partnership on long term action to improve health outcomes.
Our work also supports the Health and Wellbeing Strategy created by the Norfolk and Waveney Health and Wellbeing Board, where we work with partners to set and achieve the overarching health and care aims for the county.
