Big Norfolk Holiday Fun returns for the summer

Norfolk County Council , 25 July 2024 14:53

Children in Norfolk can enjoy a wide range of fun activities during the six-week school holiday.

The Big Norfolk Holiday Fun activity programme provides holiday activities for children and young people aged 5-16 and a healthy lunch for children eligible for means-tested free school meals.

The scheme is delivered by Norfolk County Council in partnership with Active Norfolk and supports children as part of the government's Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme.

Councillor Penny Carpenter, Cabinet Member for Children's Services, said: "The Big Norfolk Holiday Fun programme can help keep children active and healthy over the summer holidays, as well as the opportunity to make new friends and discover their passion for a new hobby or skill.

"The scheme has always been a success with families across Norfolk. We encourage parents to get booking on the programme as soon as possible, as we are aiming to make this the best year yet.

Activities will be running from 22 July to 3 September and children will have the opportunity to learn a new skill, play a range of sports or take part in a host of activities such as outdoor adventures, science workshops, cooking, art, and lots more. To be eligible for Big Norfolk Holiday Fun activities you must be registered on the Norfolk County Council's database for means-tested free school meals while paid spots are available on many activities for those who aren't.
