This is an interactive and educational teacher-led resource. It aims to engage children to learn essential road safety skills.  

The quiz educates children about road safety. It supports development in line with our Flourish principles.

Who the quiz session is for

The road safety quiz is for children in year 4, 5 and 6.

How the quiz session links to the school curriculum

The quiz links to the PSHE curriculum by: 

  • Supporting the teaching of positive relationships in primary schools
  • Promoting safe behaviours, respect, kindness, and understanding boundaries
  • Focusing on personal safety and risk management
  • Ensuring pupils know where to get advice and report safety concerns
  • Encouraging safe travel practices, teaching essential safety skills, and building resilience
  • Emphasising safety, respect, and community participation

Details of the quiz session

A quiz session lasts approximately 30 minutes.

Through a series of fun and informative questions children will:

  • Work as a team
  • Consider safe behaviours when they are travelling
  • Be encouraged to make informed choices that keep themselves and others safe

The quiz questions highlight the importance of:

  • Pedestrian safety
  • Cycle safety
  • In-car safety
  • Passenger safety
  • Understanding the rules of the road

It encourages active participation. It helps children understand the importance of road safety in their daily lives. This can have both physical and mental health benefits.
