Norfolk's road safety partnership

Driver putting on seatbelt

We strive to reduce the number of people killed and injured on our roads. This is by working in partnership with other teams and organisations such as the:

By working with experts, businesses, and the public, we can increase safety measures.

We're committed to working together to make our roads safer. This is so that everyone can enjoy safe travel. It will also help to reduce the amount of road traffic casualties and serious injuries.

How we support road safety and reduce casualties

Norfolk's road safety partnership will:

  • Work together and use strengths across the partnership
  • Use intelligent prevention methods that identify and address road risks. We will do this by using a data-led approach.
  • Prioritise interventions that will reduce fatalities and serious injuries
  • Embed a safe system framework, principles of behaviour change and evaluation. This includes policy, development plans and interventions.
  • Deliver enforcement alongside relevant education to promote sustained behaviour change

Safe system framework

Norfolk's road safety partnership has adopted the safe system framework. There is a shared responsibility to follow this framework and its key pillars.

The key pillar we are responsible for is 'safe road users'. As part of this responsibility, we encourage safe behaviours, choices and attitudes. This is by using behaviour change campaigns, tool kits and courses.
