How to dispose of your Christmas waste

Real Christmas trees

You can put real Christmas trees in the green waste container at any of our recycling centres.

We don't offer kerbside collection of waste or trees. If you have a brown garden waste bin, check with your district, city or borough council for disposal options. Charities may also offer a collection from your home for a donation.

Artificial Christmas trees

If your fake tree is still in good condition, you could donate it to one of our Reuse shops.

If it's in poor condition, you can put the tree in the container for metals at one of our recycling centres.

Cards and wrapping paper

You can recycle cards and most wrapping paper at our recycling centres.

We accept shiny or foil-type wrapping paper when placed in the 'non-recyclable waste' container.

Give it the scrunch test (opens new window) to see if it's recyclable.
