Safer journeys ahead
Safer journeys ahead is for educators that support children in:
- Early years foundation stage (EYFS)
- Key stage one (KS1)
It encourages and empowers educators to integrate road safety messaging into the curriculum.
We developed this training in partnership with a sample of Norfolk schools. This included active travel leads, teachers and pupils.
Our aims
The aim of this teach the teacher training is to:
- Build resilience and road safety knowledge across the community. This is by upskilling individuals who teach and support children.
- Support educators to use road safety materials that meet the school and pupils needs. It aims to empower teachers to consider bespoke lesson plans, materials and campaigns.
- Help schools and educators to bench mark the change in children's learning. This can help to identify and repeat successful, targeted learning.
- Encourage a culture where educators embed road safety within the curriculum. This can act as a building block for future road safety learning.
